Anannya Saha

My journey into technology began with a fascination for solving puzzles, which led me to a Computer Science degree from Ontario Tech University. Today, I channel that passion into my work as a Data Engineer, where I get to unravel the complexities of data to build efficient, automated systems.

At the Ontario Public Services, I've had the opportunity to wear multiple hats—from a data modeling analyst automating reports with Python to a senior developer co-leading the rollout of enterprise-level systems in Dynamics 365. My core focus is always on bridging the gap between technical possibilities and business needs, whether that's through a Power BI dashboard for staffing analytics or a PowerApps tool that cuts workflow inefficiencies by 38%.

Beyond the code, I'm a lifelong learner committed to exploring how technology can create clearer, more effective ways of working.

Experimenting with Azure AI fundamentals to build a model that flags unusual patterns in service reporting data. The goal is to proactively identify potential issues before they impact performance metrics.

💡 Idea: Integrating Financial Data

Thinking about a v2 for the Staffing Request Tool. I could extend the Power Automate flow to connect to a financial system's API, allowing for real-time budget validation during the approval process.

💡 Idea: Predictive Forecasting

Could the staffing data from the Power BI dashboard be used to train a simple time-series model? It would be interesting to forecast departmental turnover rates for the next quarter.

⚙️ Experiment: Real-time Data Sync

Testing a new method for real-time data synchronization between SharePoint and a SQL database using a lightweight Python script and Azure Functions for better performance.

🎨 UI/UX: Dashboard Color Theory

Researching color theory principles to apply to Power BI dashboards, aiming to improve readability and guide user attention to key metrics more effectively.
